Les Baux: Wedding Dinner/Dance

After the climb up and up to the Chateau for the Reception, we climbed down and down to the Caves for the Dinner/Dance.

We walked through the Gauguin/VanGogh Art Exhibit...to this area that was festooned with colorfl lights that played against mammoth white walls

I was seated by an uncle of the groom, a most pleasant French gentleman.  With each of us speaking slowly, we were able to have a very interesting conversation throughout the beautifully served delicious dinner.

Steve and Jeannie join the other guests as they twirled the napkins welcoming the bride and groom into the cave

There was a stage above the dining area which was great for the dance and for the many speeches made by family and friends throughout the evening.  Here LJ and Jeannie begin the speeches...theirs was in English...others throughout the evening switched back and forth between the languages..with a lot of good humor about the different countries and families.

In addition to the many layered moist cake there were other fruits, pasteries, tarts, cheeses from which to choose.
The dance followed until 3:30 a.m (well, for those young French and American guests) We politely left with the bride's family at 1:30...happily exhausted.
