Dordogne Area: Stone, Slate, Ramparts, Views


You give Steve a camera, a bunch of castles, remarkable views up close AND faraway, and you have a zillion photos to bring to show and tell.
 
 

I think I'm coming to the place of saying---"and yet, another medieval village..."
At the same time, neither of us can stop ourselves from taking a picture from every angle and keep remarking at the sheer age and stablity of everything around us.
 
 

Our imaginations are in overdrive as we try to picture life, here during the Hundred Years' War...Right next to these villages built up and up are even higher remnants of 10th-12th century cave-dwellers which were built during the era of the Viking river raids.
