Arles: Another Market

Those of you following this blog...may be thinking..."not another open-air market"...but, yes, Saturday in Arles, in the heart of Provence, erupts into a big market full of fish, flowers, produce---you name it!

The zucchini blossoms are 'big' here...we had a delicious salad with the blossoms stuffed with chevre (warm goat cheese)

The dried tomatoes drenched in garlic-olive oil are another big winner! (obvious by the size of that tomato-mountain)

We had been enjoying fennel from our garden before we left..but, these are bigger and, no doubt better.

Onions/shallots of all sizes and varieties...

...and of course, olives!  the staple food...I think Steve wishes he could fill his suitcase as the varieties seem endless and so tempting to taste
